The Alqueva Dam is the biggest Portuguese, situated in the Guadiana river, in the
interior of Alentejo, close to the Spanish border. The dam was constructed to
irrigate the land for all and production of electric energy stops beyond other
complementary activities. Diverse infrastructures of the Global System meet
already constructed (Pedrógão dam, infrastructure 12, Village of the Light) and
many others in advanced phase of project.
